TenneT is a leading European Transmission System Operator and a key enabler of the energy transition. With more than 23,500 kilometres of high‐voltage connections and nearly 5,000 employees, we ensure a safe and reliable electricity supply in the Netherlands and large parts of Germany. You will be working within the DTT‐Assets unit, which drives and supports the digital and data transformation of asset‐related business value streams. Within this unit, you will join the DTT‐AT Onshore team, focusing on digital solutions that support the planning, operation, and performance of the onshore high‐voltage grid. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, Value Streams, Competence Centres, Platform Teams, Enterprise Architecture, and Onshore business partners. The work of this team directly contributes to the modernization, scalability, and reliability of TenneT’s asset and planning landscape.
The role:
How do you keep the Netherlands powered? As a Functional Application Manager, you ensure that applications and data solutions effectively support both operational and strategic business needs. You manage, optimize, and continuously improve the application landscape that enables large‐scale, asset‐intensive planning processes and supports grid performance. You translate functional business requirements into concrete application improvements and safeguard system stability, data quality, security, and usability. With your analytical and data‐driven mindset, you turn insights into actionable improvements that increase efficiency and business value.
You operate within the DTT‐AT Onshore team and report to the Manager DTT Assets – Onshore. This is an individual contributor role with a strong focus on functional expertise, process understanding, and data‐driven application optimization.
Your key responsibilities include:

• Managing and optimizing the functional performance, configuration, and lifecycle of applications, with a strong focus on planning capabilities, specifically Primavera and related probabilistic planning applications.
• Translating business needs into functional improvements, including database splits, new structural setups, and coordinating implementation with IT teams and vendors.
• Providing expert user support, incident handling, and promoting best‐practice usage; acting as a trusted advisor for planning processes.
• Safeguarding data quality, analysing planning data, and delivering insights to support data‐driven decision‐making.
• Ensuring system stability, integrations, and compliance with relevant standards and best practices.
• Designing and refining processes, tools, and functional solutions to improve efficiency and performance within the planning domain.
• Maintaining documentation and training materials, and sharing knowledge across teams to ensure consistent application use.
• Representing planning application expertise within the organization while embodying and promoting TenneT’s core values.
What do you bring?

• A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent proven experience).
• At least 5 years of experience in functional application management.
• Deep expertise in enterprise planning or scheduling applications, specifically Primavera.
• A strong Business IT background, with the ability to translate complex business processes into functional system enhancements.
• Advanced analytical and data‐interpretation skills, including experience with reporting tools and converting insights into actionable improvements.
• Proven stakeholder‐management and advisory skills, supporting planners, project managers, and business leaders in large or complex organizations.
• Hands‐on experience with system integrations, upgrades, testing, and change management in environments with high compliance and reliability requirements.
• Ability to speak Dutch is highly desirable.
